Dr. Caffey is Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness at Clovis Community College and a student of New Mexico State Library Commission. He is the author of four books on New Mexico and the Southwest, including the most recent, Frank Springer and New Mexico: From the Colfax County War to Emergence of Modern: Santa Fe, published by Texas A&M University Press.
